Cucumber Gap Loop

Distance: Approximately 5.5 miles

Rating: Moderate with 500 feet of elevation gain

Driving Time: 1.5 Hours

This hike is a nice loop using the Little River, Cucumber Gap and Jakes Creek trails.  We will see some of the historic Elkmont cabins and walk along the pretty Little River.

Hiking boots and hiking stick(s) are recommended.  Bring ample water and a trail lunch.

Car-pooling is recommended and will be set up the morning of the hikes. Passengers are asked to contribute $5 to the driver to help cover gas etc.

Driving Directions:

From the Visitor Center take TN 444 to US 321.  Turn toward Maryville.  Continue through Maryville to Townsend.  At the traffic light in Townsend turn left toward Pigeon Forge.  Continue 5.7 miles to Lyons Springs Road.  Turn right and continue 2.6 miles to the Metcalf Bottoms picnic area and a “T” with TN 73.  Turn left and continue 3 to 4 miles to the Elkmont Road.  Turn right and follow the road into Elkmont.  Turn left just befor the campground and continue approximately .5 miles to the sign for the Little River trailhead.
